About
This site is currently under construction and will be launched shortly. The following text is just sample text and has not been finalised
The purpose of the site is to track wind farm applications across the United Kingdom through crowd sourcing techniques.
We have noted that there are many campaign groups across the UK fighting inappropriate wind farm developments. One aspect of the campaigns by many of the groups is the creation of local maps highlighting wind farm applications within their communities; sometimes this work is duplicated within a few groups operating in the same area.
Mapping turbine applications can be very time-consuming for groups. We hope that this site can provide an online collaboration toolkit for groups and individuals to come together and map out known wind farms pending in the planning application system, or which have already been approved and/or constructed.
This facility will help ease workloads for campaign groups collectively, whilst keeping individuals up-to-date with the changing landscape of the UK.
Wind Farm Issues
As a secondary aim we could monitor issues individuals are having with wind farms built in their locality. However, there is an established group, collecting reports from around the globe, which is ghighly recommended for reporting any wind farm issues which you may have. This can be accessed at http://illwind.org
National Groups
There is many localised groups fighting wind farm developments all across the UK, as well as a range of National groups fighting wind farms at the Governmental level. Below is quick links to the various groups that can provide help and support, advice, and can also use your support.
